Bays of Harris Community Estate is a member-led organisation. Its members will ultimately decide what the priorities of the Trust should be and how the Trust should operate. In the future, this includes deciding on who they want to run the organisation on their behalf. Each year members will have the opportunity at the Annual General Meeting to decide who they want to be directors of the company for the subsequent year.
Like many voluntary organisations, our Board directors are unpaid volunteers. Bays of Harris Community Estate can’t exist without volunteer board members who take on the shared responsibility for running the organisation. We would encourage all members to consider whether they would like the opportunity to put themselves forward to be a director. You don’t need management experience, you just need to have a real interest in helping your community. Between formal general meetings, there will periodically be board director vacancies which arise as well, so we would encourage anyone who might be interested in filling such roles to make their interest known.
Currently the interim board has a good spread of represenatives from across the estate. However, due to other commitments, our Northton representative has had to step down. If you’re a Northton resident and you support the aims of Bays of Harris Community Estate, please get in touch via the contact form if you’d like to be involved.
